Creating a weight loss vision board is a powerful way to focus your mind and intention on what you want and see it manifest into reality in a way that feels like magic.
This is because; whether you realize it or not, your thoughts, energy and intentions are a driving force that’s either helping or hindering you on your weight loss journey.
Yes, that’s right.
The thoughts you think on a daily basis are the catalyst for what’s being created in your reality.
How do I know?
Although I’ve always had a small and slender frame, my life used to be very different in terms of my weight, health and physical appearance.
➤ I carried more weight (I was a couple of dress sizes heavier)
➤ I was always bloated in the face
➤ I had terrible digestive issues, no energy, problems sleeping
And…
➤ I was heavily addicted to sugar (I would eat a packet or more of lollies every day!)
In the end, it wasn’t another diet that helped me release the weight. And it wasn't trying to push myself harder to get into shape. It was learning how to focus my thoughts and energy on where I desired to be.
When I got this piece right, everything else started to fall into place.
I:
✔️ Lost the weight that previously would not budge
✔️ The bloating disappeared
✔️ My digestion improved tenfold, I started sleeping more deeply and waking up feeling energized for the first time ever
✔️My sugar addiction lifted and became a thing of the past
And the foundational piece to all of this was using manifestation and having a weight loss vision board!

Introduction
First, let’s discuss what a vision board is exactly…
What is a vision board?
A vision board (or dream board) is a culmination of images, words and quotes that inspire you and represent something you want to manifest and achieve.
They can come in a variety of shapes, sizes and forms.
For example, you can create a digital vision board using a program like Canva, or a physical vision board where you print images out and stick them to a piece of cardboard. You can even create a vision board book.
Vision boards can be focused on one type of goal, for example, a business vision board, weight loss board, money vision board or even one specifically for love. Or, they can be focused on a number of different goals at the same time.
I’ll drill down into the pros and cons of both later in this post.
Benefits of using a vision board for weight loss
To get you into the right mindset before you start creating your board, let’s talk about the benefits.
Benefit 1. They give you clarity
Something a lot of people don’t realize when it comes to successfully manifesting what you want is that often you are focused on what you don’t want rather than what you do.
I was a perfect example of this.
Even though I knew I wanted to release some weight, bloating, and feel overall better in my health I was actually heavily fixated on the ‘problem’ I was experiencing rather than the results I wanted.
My daily thoughts and energy where always around:
“How do I stop eating so much sugar”
“Why are my jeans so tight today”
“I just wish I could sleep better throughout the night”
When you are focused more on what you don’t want, you aren’t sending clear messages to your subconscious mind (or the universe) about what you want to achieve.
This makes it harder to manifest your desires from a scientific perspective and an energetic one.
Clarity gives you power.
A weight loss vision board allows you to get crystal clear - not just on the number on the scale you desire to be, but ALL the aspects of your life that relate to this like diet, exercise, body shape, tone, definition, energy levels (and I could go on!)
Benefit 2. They make you focus
We all know that focusing on what you want is a key component in being able to manifest and achieve your goals. But the thing is, this can be difficult when you’ve got a long list of daily demands, people who want your attention and social media pinging your phone every 5 minutes.
This doesn’t leave you with much available ‘space’ to prioritize where your attention is going in relation to your health, and weight loss goals.
This is where a vision board comes in!
A vision board can help you focus your attention on your weight loss goals in a very consistent and intentional way.
By having a visual representation of what you want to achieve that you can look at DAILY, you are able to anchor yourself to what you want and stay motivated despite the ebbs and flows of day to day life.
Benefit 3. They change your frequency
Ok, now I’m going to go a level deeper.
One of the biggest benefits to creating a weight loss vision board is its ability to help you change your frequency.
This is because; when thinking about manifestation and the law of attraction and how it works, in order to ‘manifest’ something into your experience you need to become a vibrational match to it.
And to become a vibrational match to something you need to start emanating a similar frequency.
The quickest and easiest way to do this is to start using manifestation techniques that allow you to feel your desires as real, and this is exactly what a good vision board will do.
How Vision Boards Work
There are a couple of ways in which a vision board works.
From a manifestation and energetic perspective vision boards work by utilizing the principles mentioned above.
They help you to:
➤ Get clear on what you desire,
➤ Focus your attention on it and
➤ Change the way you feel which changes your frequency to align with your desire
Doing this ACTIVATES the law of attraction to start working for you.
From a more logical standpoint vision boards help you to stay motivated and inspired to achieve your goals because they help to reinforce your intentions and keep them top of mind.
And not only that but, scientific studies have shown that the brain responds more powerfully to imagery than words.
When you focus on images of who you want to be and what you want to achieve, this can change the way you think, feel and behave.
The Science Behind Visualization
The positive effects of visualization have also been studied extensively in a variety of fields such as psychology, sports performance and neuroscience.
The takeaway?
Our brains often don’t know the difference between something we imagine and what’s happening in our reality,
When we visualize ourselves performing an action or experiencing a certain situation, the brain responds in a similar way as it would if we were actually doing that thing.
So it helps strengthen neural connections related to the action you’re visualizing, this then makes it easier to perform that activity in real life.
How Manifestation + Visualization Work Together
When looking at this through the lens of weight loss it's easy to see how using a vision board to visualize your ideal weight, physique, eating habits and exercise routine can start to be manifested into your reality.
Visualization changes your brain but it also changes the way you feel which impacts your energy and vibration and what is being attracted to you.

When you think about the person you are today and the habits and behaviors that aren’t in alignment with who you want to become, you need to be able to RISE above them.
Manifestation and vision boards help to ANCHOR you to your future vision so the actions and decisions you make on a daily basis are bringing you closer to what you want.
How to Create Your Weight Loss Vision Board
Now for the fun part, how to create your weight loss vision board!
Step 1. Get clear on your goals and intentions
The very first step you want to take before you create any type of vision board is to get clear on what you want.
Think about everything you desire to attract in terms of your health and weight.
What are your goals?
How do you desire to feel?
What will your life look like when you achieve your ideal weight?
The more specific you can be the better.
Step 2. Images to include
Once you have a clear idea of your goals and intentions it's time to find images that represent them and make you feel the way you desire to feel.
This is one of the most important parts of creating a successful vision board because the way you feel when you look at it is ultimately what will start shifting your energy and vibration.
There are a number of places you can find images such as:
➤ Pinterest (my top pick)
➤ Magazines
➤ Google images
➤ Royalty free image websites like Pixabay, Unsplash, Pexels
As a rule of thumb the more connected you are to an image and the more of a pull it gives you when you look at it, the more powerful it will be.

Once you have your images it’s time to select some quotes and affirmations that will add another layer and dimension to your board.
What I love about using quotes and affirmations is that they can quickly bring you back into alignment with your desires when you feel like you might have fallen off your path.
Remember the last time you read a good quote that felt like it spoke to your soul?
That feeling you get when a quote or affirmation - just lands - with you?
These are the types of words or phrases that you should be including on your vision board.
That resonate feeling you get is your soul telling you it’s the information you need to progress on your manifesting journey and keep you motivated.

Step 4. Putting your Board Together
Finally, when it comes to putting your board together there are a couple of ways you can go about this.
1. You can create a vision board using Canva and leave it as a digital vision board or get it printed.
2. You can print your images and quotes out on paper and stick them to a piece of cardboard.
I prefer to take the time to create a physical board (see image below of one of mine). This is because the process of creating your board in physical form helps you to connect more deeply to the energy of your desires.
And the more connected you are, the quicker you will manifest.
*You will notice if you look closely at my vision board above that there are images that relate specifically to health and fitness.
Ie Stretching/yoga, someone going for a walk and checking their apple watch, running shoes, a green juice, healthy snacks and a toned physique.
Then, you will notice there are other images on the board relating to different goals. This was done intentionally as creating a vision board solely focused on weight loss can sometimes get you into an “attached” energy which makes manifesting difficult.
When you choose to have multiple goals on your board you are naturally in a more surrendered state which helps things materialize faster.

Step 5. Positioning Your board
If you decided to create a physical vision board rather than a digital version you will need to find somewhere to place it in your home.
I love to position my vision boards either in my office or bedroom as I can easily look at them throughout the day and they are also kept private from friends and family who may be visiting me at home.
Other common places to put your board can be your altar (if you have one) or a meditation/yoga space.
Bonus tip:
If you are concerned about people seeing your board and you want to keep it away from prying eyes, you can also think about putting it behind a door or inside your wardrobe.
How to Use Your Vision Board
There are a number of different ways in which you can use your vision board I’ll discuss my favorites below.
1. Visualization
One of the most common ways to use your vision board is to help you visualize your desires.
You can do this by gazing at the images and then practicing feeling yourself as if you are the person on your board.
You then want to HOLD this energy for as long as possible. 17 seconds is the minimum amount of time to start activating the law of attraction.
2. Affirmations
Your vision board can also be a great tool to help you when you repeat your weight loss affirmations.
This is because, not only will your affirmations be clearly written on your board making them easy to remember, but staring at images that relate to what you’re saying will help them sink in.
Ideally, in order for affirmations to be effective you want to feel something when you repeat them.
3. Scripting
Finally, you can use your vision board to help you script about your desired weight and physique.
To do this, select an image on your board and use that image as a jumping off point to start writing about it as if it's your life.
